Vincent Van Gogh "Bedroom at Arles"

Quiet nights
I go to sleep on one beach
Wake up on another
Boat all fitted out
Tugging against its rope.

Raymond Carver

I'm reading Francine Prose's Reading Like a Writer. I think it's one of the most helpful books on writing I've found.

Tennessee Williams is one of my most recently acquired "literary interests." I started by reading "The Glass Menagerie."  I read in the New York Review of Books that it is highly autobiographical.  He is Tom, his sister Rose is Laura, and his mother Edwina is Amanda. Williams writes with great sensitivity and understanding  about all his characters.
